Manufacturing Innovation

Southern Manufacturer Alliance

Southern Manufacturing Innovation Group

A series of ongoing networking events has been established to provide a forum for manufacturers in the region to connect with researchers at UOW.

The group officially launched in May 2015 and will meet regularly to discuss different themes. The aim of this group is to create a three-way exchange of ideas and specific collaborative opportunities.  The common characteristics of the group are innovativeness, and interest in learning from each other as well as collaborating on projects.

Discussion topics will be determined in conjunction with participating companies and may include areas like new product development, process improvement etc. Researchers from a range of disciplines at UOW will present their research in those areas.  Organisations will also speak about their own experience in these areas or open the floor to discuss a challenge or opportunity they may have.
